Every New Leaf makes simple, free tools for people who love their indoor plants and want them to thrive, without needing to learn the jargon first.
It starts with light, because light is the one thing most indoor plants are short of. The DLI calculator answers a plain question: does my plant get enough light each day, and how many hours should my grow light run? It works under a grow light, with a phone light reading, or just by describing your window.
Everything is written in plain words for houseplants, herbs, seedlings and vegetables grown indoors. The tools work the same on a phone, tablet or computer, and you can print or save any result. More light tools and printable guides are on the way.
Where the numbers come from
Light targets and formulas come from university extension services and research, including Iowa State University, Purdue University, the University of Illinois, Michigan State University and Cornell University. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
